I agree, Google's dominance is so outsized that even their smallest decisions can put companies out of business. Frankly, its a bit scary.
Synthetic data was an eye-opener for me too. But then it seems to have a wide range of applications. In the pre-Gen AI world, the challenge was finding accurate mathematical models to mimic real-world data. That's gone now. Imagine an org that has a cleanroom where it combines data from various partners. It then forms a holistic view of a customer and allows its partners to run concept & A/B testing without the worries around data privacy. It feels like a field with immense potential not just limited to marketing.
Great insights. loved the part on synthetic data modeling. A must read for all interested in AI and marketing strategies.
Thank you Charu. I am digging deep into synthetic data too. Going to be on lookout for marketers who are already experimenting with it.
So many great insights!
The Google traffic numbers are bonkers. Especially timely since the cynicism about Alphabet seems to be mounting.
And Iβd never thought about synthetic data. How valuable is it compared to a real data set of the same size?
Same intrigue with synthetic data and who/how will companies validate it?
